Police Identify Victim Found Dead in Storage Unit

Police have identified the woman who was found dead in a storage unit yesterday at the Anthony Wayne Village Center. The white female is being identified as 33-year-old Dana Gersper of Fort Wayne.

However, the folks with the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center say the cause of her death is still pending, but they don’t suspect foul play to be involved.

In the meantime, the investigation is still ongoing by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Corner’s Office.

Original Story:

Police are conducting a death investigation at a shopping complex on S. Anthony Boulevard.

Police got a call there this afternoon around 2:00 p.m., after the owner of a storage unit in the Anthony Wayne Village Center found 2 adult females inside the unit.

According to Fort Wayne Public Information Officer, Raquel Foster, she says the man thought the women were sleeping. Once medics arrived on the scene, they pronounced one woman dead and they took the other woman to the hospital in serious condition.

As of right now the cause of death is unknown, but Foster added there were reports of a strange odor in the area.

Police are investigating and WOWO News will pass along more details, once they’re made available.
