Police respond to barricaded suspect at Fort Wayne hospital

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne police had to be called to Lutheran Hospital last night after a patient barricaded himself in his room.

According to Public Information Officer Jason Anthony, police were called to the hospital on West Jefferson Blvd at about 11:41pm after the man reportedly armed himself with a screwdriver and barricaded himself in his room, threatening to harm the hospital staff if anyone tried to get in.

Police tried to communicate with him for two hours before finally making entry and taking him into custody without incident.
