Police: Valparaiso teen died after taking synthetic LSD…

VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) _ Authorities say a northwestern Indiana teenager who died after a seizure in his home’s front yard had taken a synthetic version of LSD.

Porter County police have arrested an 18-year-old man on drug dealing charges and say he provided the substance to 17-year-old Cody Riffett before his June 25 death. The Times of Munster reports two juveniles with Riffett told police he began hallucinating after taking the LSD and fell from a vehicle when they arrived at his home near Valparaiso.

Police say Riffett was taken to a hospital, where he went into cardiac arrest and never regained consciousness.

Porter County Drug Task Force coordinator Bob Taylor says the synthetic LSD has dangerous chemicals like those used in other synthetic drugs known as bath salts and other names.
