FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Allen County Board of Commissioners today awarded a contract for the construction of a new bridge on South Anthony Boulevard over the Maumee River. Primco, Inc. of Fort Wayne, submitted the bid of $1.8 million. The engineer's estimate for the project was $2.3 million. The County Highway Department hopes to start work this September and finish in May of next year. Traffic in the area will be rerouted while construction takes place. The current bridge will be replaced with a new concrete deck, sidewalks on both sides, and new concrete bridge I-Beams, among other items.
