Public Helps Lead Police to Robbery Suspect

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne police are crediting the public for helping officers track down a wanted robbery suspect.


Last week WOWO News reported that a black man in his later 20's to early 30's, about 5'9″ with a small mustache, was wanted in connection to a robbery of the Cap-n-Cork Store located on N. Coliseum Boulevard.


Police say, over the weekend, 21-year-old Magellan Steward of Fort Wayne was arrested and has been charged with not only the robbery of the Cap-n-Cork Store located on N. Coliseum Boulevard, but also with robberies at the following retail locations:


Tasty Pizza 2727 W. State Street 10/26/2014


S&V Liquors 1205 E. State Street 11/7/2014


Subway 1518 Wells Street 11/16/2014


S&V Liquors 6721 Bluffton Road 11/17/2014


Spokesperson for the Fort Wayne Police Department, Mike Joyner, says these cases were solved because the public passed along several tips to Crime Stoppers.
