Purdue and IU seek state funding for Fort Wayne projects

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Both Indiana and Purdue Universities are asking state lawmakers for funding for campus projects in Fort Wayne.

The House Ways and Means Committee heard requests yesterday from both schools, according to the Journal Gazette. Purdue is asking for $10-million for renovations on their south campus in Fort Wayne, and another $2-million for program expansions.

IU is requesting $3-million for a health sciences planning study in town, plus $1.25-million for a new “regional campus engagement initiative.”

Lawmakers will consider those requests as they work on the upcoming state budget.
