Purdue Incentive Pay Undecided for Daniels

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP): Purdue University trustees aren't yet ready to decide how much incentive pay school President Mitch Daniels will receive.

The former Indiana governor's contract with Purdue gives him a $420,000 annual base salary. He can also receive 30 percent more, or $126,000, based on factors such as graduation rates, student affordability and fundraising.

The Journal & Courier reports the Board of Trustees had planned to vote Friday on Daniels' incentive pay, but compensation committee chairman Michael Berghoff said data was still needed in some measurement categories.

Berghoff tells WLFI-TV it's unlikely Daniels will be paid for meeting all the categories. He says the trustees will likely decide on Daniels' incentive pay next month.

Daniels became Purdue's president after his tenure as governor ended in January 2013.
