Purdue Planning New Indianapolis Charter School

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Purdue University plans to open a new charter school in Indianapolis focused on science, technology, engineering and math.
 
University President Mitch Daniels announced Thursday that Purdue Polytechnic Indianapolis High School will open in August 2017. Faculty from Purdue will develop the curriculum and teaching methods for the high school. 
 
USA Funds provided a $500,000 grant to aid in the planning. 
 
University officials say students who attend the school will be admitted to Purdue after graduation.
