FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): It’s National Fire Prevention Week, and this year the focus is on preventing kitchen fires. So, the Red Cross is offering up some ways to stay safe during cooking to prevent kitchen fires-the focus of this year’s fire prevention week. If you’re cooking and a pan catches fire, don’t move it. Put a lid or cookie sheet on top to take the air away. If a fire starts in the microwave, keep the door closed, and unplug it if you can.
