FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Bob Chase’s story is known to mostly all of WOWO or Fort Wayne Komets fans. On Sunday, the nation’s hockey fans will know his story, too.

A video package called “The Doctor’s Inspiration” will air on Sunday. According to the News-Sentinel, it will run during the Buffalo Sabres/Pittsburgh Penguins game at 12:30 p.m., likely during the first intermission.

The feature will chronicle Chase as well as his most famous mentee, Mike “Doc” Emrick. The LaFontaine native learned the hockey broadcasting tools of the trade from Chase at Komets games.

NBC shot footage during a Jan. 2 road trip to Toledo as well as when Emrick surprised Chase to during his 90th birthday celebration on Jan. 17.

If you can’t see it Sunday, you’ll have plenty of chances to later. Chase says that feature will also air during future Komets games.
