We'll learn more Saturday about the Rescue Mission's new campaign to address panhandling in the community.

Officials say the project, called Real Change, Not Spare Change, is designed to find ways to positively help the needy without enabling them. The initative will be unveiled Saturday at South Side Fest.

They say its about educating the public about the wealth of resources available and to help them deal with needy individuals in an effective, guilt free way.

It also addresses homelessness as a symptom of other needs like poverty, trauma, mental health and education.
