FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – The Allen County coroner’s office has identified the man who was killed yesterday after an exchange of gunfire with Fort Wayne police.  The deceased suspect is identified as 22-year-old Ryan Koontz.  Police were called to a home on Weymouth Court, near Cook & Coldwater Roads.  

Koontz allegedly fired numerous shots, some striking nearby homes.  Officers returned fire, killing Koontz.  His death is listed as the 17th homicide in Fort Wayne and Allen County this year.  Yesterday’s incident remains under investigation.
