FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Some proposed housing projects are raising questions from people living in the northwest and southwest portions of Allen County.

A public hearing was held Thursday on both the proposed Bonterra apartment complex for the west side of Coldwater Road south of Pion Road, and the Palmira Lakes and Lone Oak Hills single-family-home neighborhoods proposed for Aboite Township on the south side of Bass Road, according to the Journal Gazette.

A person living close to the proposed Bonterra site says it’ll cause a strain on Northwest Allen County Schools, while opponents of the single-family homes say those projects would be taking away perfectly good farmland.

The Allen County Plan Commission will give the projects an up-or-down vote at an upcoming meeting.
