Richmond man will plead guilty in 2012 slaying

RICHMOND, Ind. (AP): An eastern Indiana man who was among five people charged in a drug-related slaying has agreed to plead guilty in that killing.

Attorney Jeffrey Arnold filed court documents in mid-December stating that his client, 20-year-old Robert W. Campbell, will plead guilty to murder and two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery in the killing of 48-year-old Michael Sekse.

Court documents filed in Wayne County Superior Court say prosecutors have agreed to drop their efforts to have the Richmond man sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

A hearing date on Campbell's change of plea has not yet been scheduled.

Campbell was one of five co-defendants charged in the Sekse's March 2012 killing during a robbery in a shed behind a Richmond home.
