FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to reports of shots fired around 12:38 a.m. Thursday.

The shots were fired into a house on Smith Street.

A 43-year-old woman was found inside the home suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to her thigh.

The woman was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

Officers located numerous shell casing in front of the house, to the north side of the property.

No suspect information has been provided at this time.
