Rome City woman arrested, charged with reckless homicide

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. – A Rome City woman is behind bars for her role in a deadly crash.

Police apprehended 60-year-old Mary Ridenour Thursday afternoon in connection with the investigation of a fatal crash that took place on Sept. 1.

Police say Ridenour was the driver of an SUV in a crash that killed 71-year-old Carol Northup on a UTV in Steuben County’s rural Jackson Township.

As a result of the Steuben County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team’s (FACT) investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Ridenour by the Steuben Superior Court, charging Ridenour with reckless homicide.

Ridenour was taken into custody in Rome City without incident and booked into the Steuben County Jail.

She remains held without bond pending an initial court appearance.
