FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): One school district’s bigger budget might actually mean a smaller tax burden for some in southwest Allen County.

The Southwest Allen County Schools district is looking at a $77.5-million spending plan, unveiled at a school board meeting last night.

The Journal Gazette reports it got no public feedback, and is $5-million more than the last spending plan, with a $28.3-million tax levy attached. The estimated tax rate for property owners in the district would actually be seven cents less than last year.

The Board will vote on the budget on October 16th.
