SDI Tour de Plants

By Scott Sarvay

Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – 20 cyclists departed from SDI’s corporate headquarters Thursday morning for a 350 mile ride that ends at the SDI plant in Jeffersonville, to support Camp Red Cedar.

Camp Red Cedar is a 57-acre summer camp that offers horseback and therapeutic riding to children and adults with disabilities.

Roy Perala, a nine-year veteran of the ride and an employee at SDI LaFarga, says riding was a way to get in shape while doing something he enjoyed, which he equates with the same enjoyment kids with special needs have going to camp.

SDI has raised $150,000 over the past 10 years.
