Search continues for second ice fisherman after man’s body found in Kosciusko County quarry

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A man’s body was found in a rock quarry and another man is missing after police believe there they were fishing together in Kosciusko County on Sunday.

Around 7 p.m., officers pulled the body of 29-year-old Dustin Reaker of Bremen from the Leesburg quarry near 76 W 600 North in Kosciusko County.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources said 41-year-old Allen Stattler of Dowagiac, Mich., who was fishing with Reaker, is still missing.

The search began when someone called police around 4 p.m. Sunday because they saw fishing equipment next to a large hole in the ice. Another witness said the equipment had been on the ice all day, according to Indiana DNR.

The Indiana Conservation Officers Dive team was called to the scene and searched the area.

Officers from the DNR dive team and Kosciusko County Sherriff’s Department will continue searching for Stattler on Monday morning.
