FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Indiana is about to launch a tax amnesty program giving those who owe taxes a chance to pay up without going to jail.

Amanda Stanley of the Indiana Department of Revenue tells WOWO news there are 260,000 Hoosiers eligible:

“There's a large amount of people eligible. The Department has identified approximately $545-million in outstanding liabilities that may be eligible.”

The program will run from September 15th thru November 16th. You'll get a notice in the mail if you're eligible, but you can also find more information here. They're hoping to collect at least $84-million in back taxes to help fund Governor Mike Pence's Regional Cities Initiative.
