South Bend Lawmaker, Daughter Injured in Car Crash

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WOWO): South Bend State Representative David Niezgodski and his 23-year-old daughter are recovering from injuries suffered in a car crash. It happened around 7 o'clock Thursday night near The State Capitol when the car they were in was T-boned by another vehicle. It took 15 minutes to extricate Niezgodski’s daugther, Rachel, from the wreckage. Their injuries were initially described as critical, but hospital officials said their conditions had stabilized on arrival. One reporter tweeted that a friend of Niezgodski said the lawmaker was awake and texting but had suffered some broken ribs. The other driver was not injured.
