Southeast Apartment Fire Contained

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A late night apartment fire could of been worse without the help of watchful neighbors.

A concerned neighbor at the Three Fountains Apartments started to smell smoke coming from a nearby unit and called the Fort Wayne Fire Department. Crews arrived to 4029 Hassen Cassel Road, across from McMillen Park Golf Course around 10:55 p.m. and had the fire under control in around 17 minutes.

Luckily there was no one hurt, and the people were not home at the time. The fire spread to the north and the south units, along with minor smoke damage. Firefighters stayed for over an hour to make sure the fire was out in the space between the apartments.
