“Spice” Drug Bust Nets Two Arrests in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The statewide crackdown on synthetic marijuana has hit home in Fort Wayne.

Fort Wayne detectives arrested two people after conducting a search at a home on Weststate Court Monday near West State Boulevard and Hillegas Road.

Lance Morningstar is charged with dealing synthetic marijuana as well as neglect of a dependent and maintaining a common nuisance. Carrie Morningstar is facing the same charges as well as a paraphernalia possession charge.

7 pounds of “Spice” was reportedly recovered along with chemicals used to make the drug, a pound of marijuana, and over $20,000.

The drug was the subject of a Supreme Court ruling this month that stated that outlawing Spice and other drugs is not unconstitutional.
