Steuben County Judge Warned

The Indiana Commission on Judicial Qualifications has admonished a Steuben County Judge for what they say was her “assuming the role of the prosecutor” in a case where the defendant inquired about the status of his traffic ticket and driver’s license suspension.  The Commission said they were also also issuing a warning to Judge Martha Hagerty for several ex-parte conversations she reportedly had with the prosecutor about the same case.  This commission said that the admonition concluded their investigation and that Judge Hagerty will not formally be charged with ethical misconduct.
