Stolen Bus Batteries Prompt C. Ind. School Closing

CLAYTON, Ind. (AP): A central Indiana school district has called off classes after batteries were stolen from its school buses. The Mill Creek Community School Corp. says the thefts from buses parked at its bus barn were discovered early Monday. Officials of the Hendricks County district about 15 miles west of Indianapolis canceled Monday's classes to allow time for the batteries to be replaced. The district of about 1,500 students includes Cascade High School. Classes are expected to resume Tuesday.
