FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Indiana Supreme Court ruled that Fort Wayne police illegally entered a man's home in 2012. On Tuesday, they reversed the marijuana convictions against the man.

According to the Journal Gazette, police violated Jonathan Carpenter’s right against illegal search and seizure after they responded to a dogfight in the yard. Carpenter had already served a two-year prison sentence, after police found marijuana plants when they entered the home.

On Tuesday, the justices ruled that entry was unreasonable without any objective evidence that a person required immediate assistance.
