Suspect Captured after Chase through Three Counties

ANGOLA, Ind. (WOWO): Authorities in Steuben County arrested a man after he led police on a chase that lasted about 30 minutes in LaGrange and Noble Counties.

Angola Police had stopped a vehicle in a store parking lot just off North Wayne Street after reports it contained a mobile meth lab. While stopped, a woman in the car told police there was no lab, but there were items used to manufacture the drug and in addition to a gun.

But before the officer and a Steuben County deputy could make an arrest, the driver, Scotty Miller of Fort Wayne, led police on a chase. Police were able to corral him after he stopped the car and attempted to swim through a flooded area.

Miller is facing charges of possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, resisting law enforcement. Authorities say he also had an active warrant.

He was found with a .22 caliber rifle in his trunk and bullets in his pocket.
