Suspect sought after attempted break-in in Celina

CELINA, Ohio (WOWO): A Celina, Ohio, man said he caught two men trying to break into a building on his property and were holding them a gunpoint, but one suspect got away before police arrived.

The home owner called police at about 3:51 a.m. Sunday and said he was holding two men at gunpoint in the 4900 block of Kittle Road until police could arrive , according to the Mercer County (Ohio) Sheriff’s Office.

When police arrived, one suspect had ran away. Police searched the property and said they found baggies of suspected meth, pills they suspect of being morphine, a bag of marijuana and a pocket scale, near a car parked in the victim’s driveway.

Police are applying for a search warrant for the car, which was seized. The case will be sent to the Mercer County Prosecutor.

Police are still searching for the second man. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Mercer County Sheriff’s Office at 419-586-7724.
