Teen Killed by Multiple Gunshots in Police Shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ A coroner's office says a 15-year-old youth fatally shot by Indianapolis police who cornered the carjacking suspect died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Office Manager Marchele Hall of the Marion County Coroner's office said Thursday that Andre Green's death has been ruled a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds.

Hall says Green's autopsy report will take six to eight weeks to complete. She says it can only be released to next of kin, law enforcement or through a subpoena request.

Assistant Police Chief Lloyd Crowe said Wednesday it isn't yet known how many times Green was struck when three officers fired on him Sunday night following a pursuit.

Police have said the officers fired on Green because they feared for their lives when he accelerated a stolen car toward them.
