Threatened Hostage’s Mom Sends Twitter Message

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Another message sent on the Twitter account of the mother of an American aid worker threatened with beheading in Syria again asks the Islamic State what she and her husband can do to save his life.

The message sent Thursday by Paula Kassig of Indianapolis is addressed to the Islamic State. It says: “We have tried to contact you directly to plea for the life of our only son, Abdul Rahman Kassig, and have not received any response. Please tell us what more we can do so that Abdul Rahman may continue to serve and live his life in accordance with the teachings of Islam.''

Twenty-six-year-old Abdul-Rahman Kassig was helping victims of the Syrian civil war when he was captured last year.
