FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – A serious crash in downtown Fort Wayne sent three people to the hospital early Saturday.

Police say an Uber carrying passengers was struck at the intersection of East Wayne and South Clinton Streets when another driver reportedly ran a red light.

One of the vehicles caught fire after the collision, but firefighters quickly put out the flames. One passenger suffered life-threatening injuries, while two others were seriously hurt.

Investigators believe alcohol may have played a role. The crash remains under investigation.
