Three Hour Police Standoff in Steuben County

FREMONT, Ind. (WOWO): Acting on a tip, authorities in Steuben County attempted to serve an arrest warrant on 44-year-old Kenneth Eltzroth of Wabash.  For nearly 3 hours, police negotiated with the man at his home near Fremont. Finally around 7:30, a SWAT team fired tear gas into the residence. Police say Eltzroth was wanted for failing to appear for trial in Wabash County. He was originally charged with several drug offenses.
