Tornado Watch, High Winds for Much of Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Severe thunderstorms spawning tornadoes are rolling into Indiana.

The National Weather service says a trained spotter reported a tornado along Interstate 74 near State Route 63 in northern Vermillion County on Sunday afternoon. It also reports power lines down in adjacent Fountain County.

Vermillion County Sheriff's Department Director of Communication Derrek Williams reports there's widespread damage in the northern part of the county, about 60 miles northwest of Indianapolis.

The Fountain County Emergency Management Agency reports a truck has tipped over on Interstate 74.

The weather service reports 1 inches of rain fell in a 90-minute period in the Owen County town of Gosport.

The National Weather Service said a tornado watch was in effect until 8 p.m. EST Sunday for much of the state.
