Trial Date Set for Accused Murderer From Syracuse

SYRACUSE, Ind. (WOWO): A trial date has been set for Brandon Woody, a Syracuse man charged of two murders back in February. 

The jury trial set for August 17th is anticipated to last five days. Woody’s attorney, Scott Lennox, moved to continue the pretrial conference, which has been reset for June 8 at 3 p.m. 

The 22 year old Woody is charged with the murders of 20 year old Joshua Knisley and 23 year old Tara Thornburg, both of Syracuse. Knisley was pronounced dead at the scene on Feb. 19 and Thornburg died later in Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. 

Five people including Woody have been arrested in connection to the murders. 22 year old Kyle Dehart of Syracuse, and 27 year old Thomas Hursey of Warsaw, are both charged with two counts of murder.
