UPDATE: Flood Warnings for River and Small Streams

NORTH WEBSTER, Ind. (WOWO): A flood warning has been issued for urban and rural small streams in Allen, Adams, Wells, Whitley, Huntington, Blackford, Grant, Jay and for Paulding, Putnam and Van Wert Counties in Ohio. 


A river flood warning has been issued for the St. Marys, Little River, Salamonie Rivers in Indiana in Allen, Adams, Huntington, Wabash, Wells, Jay and Blackford Counties. The warning also includes the St. Marys and Auglaize Rivers in Ohio.

Specifically, In Indiana, the St. Marys River near Decatur affecting Adams and Allen Counties and then into Van Wert County Ohio. Based on current observations, moderate flooding is predicted, as much as five feet above flood stage Sunday afternoon.

In Ohio, US 224, Piqua Road, Ohio Route 49 near the Indiana State Line are expected to be impacted. 

In Decatur, side streets are in question, including residential flooding on East Jackson and Ogg Streets. Bellmont High School property is also in the area of concern. It could turn out to be the highest levels since April of 2011.

It may be Christmas Day before the St. Marys begins to crest.
