FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The former Whitley County auditor has been charged with theft.

44-year-old Jenny McGuire of Albion was charged Monday with two felony counts of theft and one felony count of official misconduct for using county funds for personal use. According to our partners in news at 21Alive, Indiana State Police handled the investigation.

* To correct our earlier reports, McGuire resigned in August; and Jana Schinbeckler won a Republican caucus to fill the remainder of her term, which runs through December.
