FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): One man is dead and another is in critical condition after a shooting in Fort Wayne last night.

Police were called to the 3500 block of Congress Avenue at around 9:40pm on reports that a man had been shot several times. When police arrived they found the man inside a home. Nathaniel Nix II, 28, was taken to the hospital, where he was last reported in critical condition.

A witness told police another man had been seen running from the scene; a police dog found the man lying in a nearby yard, dead from gunshot wounds.

He was later identified as Drake Amir Wells, 21 of Fort Wayne. His manner of death has been ruled a homicide. Wells is the 36th homicide in Allen County for 2018.

The incident remains under investigation.
