FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A shooting suspect is still on the loose after a nearly five hour standoff at an apartment building on west Washington Boulevard.
According to our partners in News at 21Alive, streets were blocked off at 2:50 p.m. near the complex on Washington Blvd. near Van Buren St. An armed person was known to be inside, walking around in the building and firing shots. Police surrounded the building and attempted to get the person to come outside.
After officers tried to communicate with the suspect using a PA system and cell phone, they were unable to initiate a response. Officers finally went inside at 7:30 p.m. but were unable to find anyone.
There is no description of the suspect, other than the person is male. Police will continue interviewing neighbors on the case.
