FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A woman has been identified in a Saturday night crash on Leesburg Road.

According to a press release, 69-year-old Odie Mae Hengst of Fort Wayne was walking along the 5700 block of Leesburd Rd. She then attempted to cross the road, and was hit by a car. 

Early reports suggest that the woman lived near the area. It's at least the fourth time a pedestrian has been fatally struck by passing motorists since November, but it was the first of those incidents in which the driver stopped at the scene. According to the Allen County Sheriff's Department, the driver who hit Hengst has been cooperative with authorities.

Hengst is the third traffic fatality for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2015.
