FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Celebrate the winter season this weekend in downtown Fort Wayne.

The third annual Weather the Fort returns to Freimann Square this Saturday, Feb. 17, from 4-10 p.m.

Presented by Parkview Health, the event will feature live music from local bands, ice carving, fire dancing, curling demonstrations and live art. Adult beverages and food will also be available for purchase.

Weather the Fort was created in 2016 as a way to bring the community together for a vibrant, outdoor winter festival. Proceeds from food and beverage sales will support Fort Wayne Turners, a local non-profit dedicated to encouraging people to stay active.

The event is free to attend, but attendees must be 21 years and older.

“Weather the Fort invites residents and visitors to downtown in the heart of winter for a fun celebration of local music, food and tons of great entertainment,” said festival organizer Ted Pappert in a press release. “It’s the third year of the event, and our committee is planning an amazing day to celebrate not only winter, but our great city, as well.”
