Weather-Related Crashes Include S. Indiana Fatality

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Indiana State Police and highway officials are cautioning motorists to be wary of slick road conditions following a winter storm that has contributed to a traffic fatality and a van crash that injured four people.

Police say the road conditions contributed to the fatal crash on Interstate 65 in southern Indiana's Clark County about 8 a.m. Tuesday. The driver of a pickup lost control of the vehicle, left the highway and struck a tree. The driver's name wasn't immediately released.

Police also say an Ohio University vancrashed Monday afternoon along I-70 about 50 miles east of Indianapolis, injuring four of the six students riding inside, including one with a concussion and another with a broken leg. The driver told police he lost control on the ice-covered roadway.
