Wells Fargo Bank robbed Monday morning, police seeking suspect

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Fort Wayne Police are searching for a suspect involved in a recent bank robbery.

Around 9:35 Monday, officers were dispatched to the Wells Fargo Bank located on W. State Blvd. after the holdup alarm was triggered.

Once on the scene, police were informed the suspect entered the bank and passed a written note to a bank teller demanding cash.

The suspect indicated he was armed but never displayed a weapon.

He was given an undisclosed amount of cash, and was last seen running eastbound on W. State Blvd.

There were customers in the bank at the time of the robbery.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect, or has any information on the robbery, is asked to contact the police at 427-1201 or Crime Stoppers at 436-7867.

The incident is still under investigation.

Why didn’t the fact he was way overdressed for the weather alert anyone? At my bank, you have to buzzed in and to remove hat/good before you can enter.
