Wind Chill Advisory Issued

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Bitterly cold conditions are expected to develop early Friday morning through the early afternoon.

The advisory takes effect at 4 a.m. this morning, lasting until 1 p.m. Friday.

Winds are expected to gust to 20 miles per hour or higher. That will bring wind chills that feel like 10 below to 20 below zero.

Wind chills at this level, could lead to frostbite in as little as 30 minutes. Make sure you cover all exposed skin if you are outdoors, including by wearing a hat and gloves.

The advisory covers Allen, Adams, Blackford, DeKalb, Grant, Huntington, Noble, Jay Kosciusko, Wells, Whitley, Wabash, and Wells Counties in Indiana. It extends to Defiance, Paulding, Van Wert and Williams Counties in Ohio.
