Winter Travel Watch Lifted in Allen County, Watch Extended in Huntington County

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A winter weather travel watch for Fort Wayne, Allen County, New Haven, and Woodburn has been lifted. A winter weather travel advisory is now in effect. Officials will provide further updates when conditions warrant a change in travel status.

An advisory means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation, and individuals should use caution or avoid those areas.

In Huntington County, Commissioners have extended the watch level travel status until 3 p.m. Thursday.  Officials have determined that conditions are threatening to the safety of the public. Only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended, and emergency action plans should be implemented by businesses, schools, government agencies, and other organizations.”

As a reminder, Indiana has a standardized county travel status process in place. Click here for more info.
