FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Allen County is now under a Winter Weather Travel Advisory. The advisory is in effect until further notice.

A Travel ADVISORY means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation and individuals should use caution or avoid those areas.

Moderate to heavy snow is falling in Allen County causing roads to become snow-covered, slick and hazardous. Residents are encourage to drive with caution on their way home from school and work this afternoon and evening.

Adams, Blackford, DeKalb, Grant, Huntington, Jay Noble, Kosciusko, Wabash, Wells and Whitley Counties in Indiana are also under a winter weather advisory.  An advisory is also in place for Defiance, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Williams County in Ohio.
