YMCA Encourages Bus Safety

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): As kids are heading back to school, the YMCA is reminding parents to pass on safe bus riding practices to their children. They say the most dangerous time for bus riders isn't actually riding the bus, but approaching and leaving it. They add that parents should remind children important safety rules like standing at least three giant steps away from the curb as the bus approaches, waiting for the driver to say it's okay before entering, and walking five giant steps in front of a stopped bus before crossing the street. The YMCA says these simple steps will make bus transportation much safer.
