$2.1 million federal grant awarded to Fort Wayne International Airport

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne International Airport is getting some help to rehabilitate a runway.

The Federal Aviation Administration awarded the Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority a grant worth about $2.1 million, according to a press release.

The money will be used to rehabilitate the second largest runway at the airport. The runway project is being done in two phases. First phase construction has already started and the second phase of construction will begin in August.

Flights at the airport are not being affected by the project, which is costing the airport about $20.1 million.
