2 Patrol Cars Struck on Highways near Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Two drivers are facing charges after striking Indiana State Patrol cars in separate incidents while troopers were investigating other accidents.

The first squad car was hit early Sunday morning on Interstate 465 near Indianapolis. The trooper was outside of his car when it was struck by another vehicle. The driver was arrested for operating while impaired.

The second accident occurred Sunday afternoon on Interstate 65 near Indianapolis. The patrol car was hit from behind after a driver lost control of her vehicle. She was wanted on an outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended license.

The trooper said he was sore after the accident, but he still finished working his shift.
