3 Fort Wayne residents hospitalized after crash involving stolen car

VAN WERT, Ohio (WOWO): Three people from Fort Wayne were hospitalized Tuesday after police say they stole and crashed a car.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol say 20-year-old Christopher T. Ellis Jr. and two 17-year-olds were speeding in a stolen car on U.S. 30 at about 12:15 a.m.

When an officer clocked the speed at 110 MPH, the trooper tried to pull the 2006 Chevrolet Impala over. The car didn’t stop and the officer began chasing it.

The chase didn’t last long because the car crashed while trying to exit U.S. 30 to U.S. 224 West. After crashing, the three suspect ran from the scene. The suspects were caught and then hospitalized for minor injuries.

They were released to family pending charges.

The vehicle involved had been reported stolen in Fort Wayne.
