FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  Following the controversial Blackface photo last week posted on social media by a Homestead High School student,  Southwest Allen County School Superintendent Park Ginder took to the Homestead High School Media YouTube channel on  Sunday evening to address the issue.

In a video that went for the better part of four minutes, Ginder says that overall the safety of all students and staff remain the school districts top priority as it continues to address the racial implications of the photo.  Over the course of the last several days, Ginder says the school is “seeking help” by reaching out to various community leaders and organizations to help with future changes.  Ginder went on to emphasize that district leaders are working to update school policy and the school’s handbooks to expand “with greater specificity consequences for expressions of bigotry and racism.”
